A quick 2014 year-end look at where HSAs stand at credit unions compared to the broader HSA market.

Devenir survey and resulting research report shows HSAs have grown to an estimated $24 billion in assets and 13.8 million accounts at year-end 2014 and have grown to well over $27 billion in assets during the month of January.

HSA accounts rose to 11.8 million, holding assets totaling over $22.8 billion, a year over year increase of 26% for HSA assets and 29% for accounts for the period of June 30th, 2013 to June 30th, 2014.

Devenir is projecting continued strong HSA asset and account growth over the next three years, announcing that over 20 million HSA account may hold over $36 billion in HSA assets by the end of 2016.
